Lotos Nelumbo S-2014-06-01

Unser Gigant aus dem Jahr 2014! So klein, wie der eine, so groß ist der andere. In 2014 waren unsere Sämlinge immer mit Superlativen behaftet. Entweder Super mini oder Super Maxi. Dazwischen gab es eigentlich nicht soviel.

Hier also nun unser größter Sämling. Die Blüten sind unglaubliche 25cm im Durchmesser, halbgefüllt und von rosa zu gelben Nuancen. Es ist ein ausgesprochen wüchsiger Lotos und sollte in Gefäßen ab 40 Litern gehalten werden, damit er gut zur Geltung kommt.

Im Vergleich zu seinen riesigen Blütenblättern ist der Blütenstempel verhältnismäßig klein, jedoch von einer intensiv goldgelben Farbe.

Our giant from 2014! As small as one is, the other is as big. In 2014, our seedlings were always full of superlatives. Either super mini or super maxi. There really wasn't that much in between.

So here is our biggest seedling. The flowers are a whopping 25cm across, semi-double and shades of pink to yellow. It is an extremely vigorous lotus and should be kept in containers of 40 liters or more so that it comes into its own.

The pistil is relatively small compared to its huge petals, but is an intense golden yellow in color.
